Matt wins 2009 National boat comp (December 02, 2009)
My self ( Matt Hill ) won the first ever National Boat comp to be held by the British spearfishing association. Its a new comp which has been added to the calender of events held by the BSA.

Here is a small report from Eric smith from the boat comp. A full story can be read in the Crystal clear mag, which can be purchased online from the BSA website.

Thanks to the divers who turned up at the National Boat Comp at the weekend and congratulations to Matt Hill the new champion with a catch that included Bass, Mullet, Pollack, Pout, Dogfish, Mackerel, John Dory, Bream and Topknot. The 17 year old also lost a big bass after hesitating because he thought it was a seal coming out the weed. The weather was perfect with sunshine and viz up to 40 ft in places; it was a good squad effort with at least eight divers at a time running boats up the steep beaches of Ringstead. We hope this will become an annual event as a lot of the divers learnt from the experience, it will take a lot of fine tuning to get it right but the trailblazers that turned up at the weekend have made a good start. This dive has helped in our selection of the squad heading for the world championships next year.
Can members that took photos please send them to me for the full report in Crystal Clear thanks.
